Breast Imaging Faculty
The Breast Imaging Division of the Department of Radiology in the College of Medicine and the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) in Little Rock, Arkansas is seeking a fellowship trained Breast Imaging faculty member. Our Breast Center is recognized as an American College of Radiology (ACR) Breast Imaging Center of Excellence.

Our clinical practice includes Breast Imaging in the UAMS Breast Center and a Mobile mammography program. We perform approximately 14,000 mammograms a year. Screening and diagnostic mammography, breast ultrasound, and breast MRI are all offered at our facility. A combination of four to five daily invasive breast procedures are performed including Needle localizations, MRI biopsies, Stereotactic core biopsies, and Ultrasound guided core biopsies.

We have state of the art equipment with three Hologic Full Field Digital Mammography Units with Tomosynthesis capability, the Hologic Affirm Prone Stereotactic Biopsy System with Tomosynthesis, two 16 channel Invivo Breast MRI coils used on 1.5 Tesla Magnets, and DynaCAD software for MRI image interpretation and biopsy planning. We interpret our images on large Barco Monitors.

The division affords excellent opportunities for research, deriving especially from our strong collaborative relationships with Breast Surgical Oncology, Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, and Pathology. We participate in a weekly interdisciplinary conference with Breast Surgical Oncology, Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Pathology, Genetics, and Behavioral Medicine.

Applicants must have a Fellowship in Breast Imaging. The division currently has three fellowship trained Breast Imagers and nine multimodality trained technologists. Forty radiology residents are a part of the Radiology program, and there are numerous opportunities to teach residents at the view-box and the lectern.

As Arkansas’ only medical school, the College of Medicine educates and trains the majority of the state’s physicians and prepares doctors and scientists to make their mark around the world. We provide highly specialized, patient-centered care at UAMS Medical Center, Arkansas Children’s Hospital, the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System, UAMS regional centers and clinics throughout the state. Our scientists and clinicians are on the forefront of biomedical advances.  Our radiology faculty offer expertise across key divisions including Diagnostic & Imaging (MRI/CT/US), Interventional Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, Neuroradiology, Radiology Sciences and Pediatric Radiology.  Faculty candidates must hold an M.D. or equivalent degree, be either BE/BC by the ABNM or the ABR, and have medical licensure or eligibility in Arkansas. The salary is commensurate with academic rank. Please send curriculum vitae and letter of interest to: carla@uams.edu.
