Outpatient General IM Physician
UAMS is seeking a General Internal Medicine Physician for an ambulatory teaching and direct patient care position in the Division of General Internal Medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, Arkansas.  This position will be 100% outpatient, no hospital care duties are required.

The chosen incumbent will supervise ambulatory patient care provided by 3rd/4th year medical students, Internal Medicine and Medicine-Pediatrics Residents; will provide direct patient care; and will practice in collaboration with our Advanced Practice Nurses in our Ambulatory Care Center.  The UAMS Internal Medicine Clinic uses the Epic EHR integrated across the UAMS campus and Neighborhood Clinics.  We are a NCQA Level 3 Certified PCMH, participate in the Arkansas Medicaid/Blue Cross/Qualchoice PCMH Program and is a participating site in the CPC+ Program.  

Our faculty are expected to be well trained, evidence-based, thoughtful, facile with our EMR, and collaborative with the entire medical team.  In addition to patient care and teaching activities, there will be opportunities to participate in Quality Improvement projects and scholarly activities with our trainees.  This position requires achievement and maintenance of board certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine.  

UAMS is the only tertiary care academic medical center in the state of Arkansas and all specialties and subspecialties are represented.  We closely collaborate with Arkansas Childrens’ Hospital which is located 2 miles to our east.  Little Rock is a medium sized city with multiple amenities and is within easy driving distance of the Memphis, St. Louis and Dallas metropolitan areas.  Arkansas has a pleasant year-round climate which is conducive to outdoor activities.
