Family Medicine Residency Program Faculty
The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, a nationally recognized leader in healthcare and academic medicine, is seeking a dynamic, Board Certified Family Physician for a full time faculty position in the UAMS South Central Family Medicine Residency Program in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Responsibilities include teaching residents/medical students in a tertiary hospital setting, direct patient care, Patient Centered Family Medicine Clinics and assisting with curriculum development.  UAMS South Central operates the UAMS Family Medical Center, a full service outpatient facility on the Pine Bluff Campus of UAMS.  The applicant must be board certified in Family Medicine.  There is no OB obligation with this position.
 
The UAMS South Central Family Medicine Residency Program, the oldest Regional Programs Family Medicine Residency Program in the state, is one of seven sister UAMS Family Medicine Residency Programs located throughout the state and operating under the Regional Programs Division of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, located in Little Rock, Arkansas.  UAMS South Central has the broad support of both hospital-based and community-based physicians in South Arkansas and the main campus in Little Rock.  UAMS South Central’s sponsoring institution, Jefferson Regional Medical Center, the sponsoring hospital, is a 425 bed community based tertiary medical center located on the Arkansas River in the historic port city of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, which is a medium-sized city with suburban surroundings 39 miles south of the capital of Arkansas, Little Rock. Pine Bluff was incorporated January 8, 1839 and is among the oldest communities in Arkansas.  Pine Bluff is served by Grider Field Regional Airport in Pine Bluff and Clinton National Airport in Little Rock. An abundance of recreational activities is available in the area including boating, fishing, hunting, golfing, tennis and other outdoor activities.  Pine Bluff is also home to a thriving blues music community and is the home of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, founded in 1873 the Branch Normal College and with a current enrollment of 2,900. 
 
Skills
  • Must have successfully graduated from an ACGME or OGME accredited Family Medicine Residency Program
  • Must be Board Certified in Family Medicine by the ABFM
  • Must have or be able to obtain an Arkansas medical license
  • Must be able to obtain a DEA license
