Department: UAMS IOA Institute on Aging West Central Adm 

Position Location: West Central Center on Aging, Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Work Hours: Fulltime position; Monday through Friday.

The Registered Nurse (Nurse Educator) will report to the Director of Education of the West Central Center on Aging. He/She will be the Primary Instructor for the Home Caregiver Training Program. This position requires the ability to coordinate and teach a certified home caregiver training program. Strong organizational skills, leadership,  and communication skills are a must. Some teaching experience and/or certificate of attendance in an instructor workshop are necessary. Candidates should be able to work well with others, problem solve, and be capable of working with little supervision or oversight. Self-motivation and a positive attitude is a must.

Required Experience: RN License with minimum of 2 years registered nursing experience including 1 year in the provision in long term care nursing services within the last 5 years. Experience may include, but is not limited to, employment in a nursing assistant education program or employment in or supervision of nursing students in a nursing facility or unit, geriatrics department (excluding geriatric psychiatry), long term acute care hospital, home care, hospice care or other long term acute care setting. The ability to lead, supervise, teach, manage assets, collaborate with stakeholders, direct program operations, speak in public, and operate a computer with proficiency. Experience with word® is necessary. This position requires good communications skills, flexibility, and self

motivation/direction.

Preferred Experience: BSN, supervisory position in either long term, home or community health, teaching and program management experience, certification in geriatrics.
