UAMS West, a department of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, has an opening for Director of Nursing Education/Family Nurse Practitioner.  The position will have an appointment with UAMS College of Nursing. 

The Nurse Educator will work at the UAMS Education Center in Fort Smith, Arkansas, and will be responsible for coordinating learning experiences for graduate nursing students, developing and coordinating continuing nursing education programs, providing clinic services, and assisting in the development, implementation and evaluation of health education programs.

Major position qualifications include:  Master’s degree in nursing with a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) specialty and national certification as a FNP.  Doctoral degree or actively enrolled in doctoral education program preferred, but not required.  Minimum of two years’ experience in nursing education and nursing practice is required.
